One of Canada’s pre-eminent artists stepped to the York University Convocation stage June 10 to receive an honorary doctor of letters degree. Internationally renowned dancer, choreographer and educator Peggy Baker was recognized for her work to raise the profile of dance across the nation, expand artistic expectations and deepen dance education. York film alumni, director and producer Amar Wala (BFA '08) and producer Noah Bingham (BFA '09) have been awarded feature film development support from Telefilm Canada’s new Microbudget Production Program for their documentary The Secret Trial 5, examing the human impact of Canada's war on terror.
